I am a classroom teacher at heart. I entered the career field of education later in life, after spending time at home investing in my own children. I reluctantly left the classroom after only six years in the primary grades to assume the role of a technology integration coach to pursue a better understanding of instructional technology. I loved using technology with my students, both for my own presentations and for student projects, but as a classroom teacher, time is limited to search out the best options for technology-based learning! As a technology integration coach, I have the opportunity to delve into the many digital tools available to support teachers in moving beyond the basic "wow factor" to useful, standards-enhancing technology.
I like to describe my role in the classroom now as helping students and teachers use technology successfully. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have about using technology with instruction. If you have lessons that need transforming with technology, I am available to coach you through that process with preconference/planning sessions, modeling and supporting lessons, and postconference/reflecting sessions to work towards successful implementation. I am always open to new ideas and would love for you to share your own recommendations.
